Annual 2016 winter Solstice ride Saturday Dec 17th (Tribute Ride Eddie)

It's getting near that time I think it lands in the middle of the week so maybe shoot for the Saturday or Sunday before ( if weather looks right) or weekend after any interest?

Re: 2016 winter Soltice ride

The Saturday before is supposed to be a high of 43 and partly cloudy. The Saturday after is supposed to be a high of 43 and partly sunny.
I'm scheduled to get my left eye's lens ripped out and then a new one stabbed in with a a box cutter, pair of needle nose pliers and stir sticks on the 16th. (The dood is an exile from the Ukraine. Super cheap. No anesthetic. But sells home made Vodka for $6.00 a liter for the squeamish).
I'll prolly have one hell of a hangover on the 17th.
If it's on the 24th-- count me in.

Re: 2016 winter Soltice ride

I'm sure Xmas eve is out!( well for me anyway) So weekend of the 12/17 would be the best scenario to make this happen.. I would think we would keep it simple as always and gather at the Route 50 Cracker Barrel as years past say like 10 Am if eating and kickstands up with a full tank of gas at 11:00 Am

Had my lens replaced about 7 years ago....so far, so good. Beats the hell out of my biological cataract encrusted old ones

Re: 2016 winter Soltice ride

I'm out I imagine.....

My son.....Tony, some of you know him as Cowboy on the AFJ site.....his wife, and their son get home on the 16th. Moving back home after a 6 year hitch in the USAF. Got a feeling we are going to be quite busy on that weekend.

Nancy: Ride is to the Serpent Mound in eastern OH. Group usually meets at an east-side breakfast place early and then heads out 10ish. Different routes taken, sometimes more than 1 group, but the destination is the same. We usually all stand around for 30-45 minutes, Bannister and Glissom have been known to occasionally bring out some warming liquids, and then we all head off to our respective homes to get warm. If it's really cold--below 40--you'll need good gear, preferably heated, as the ride is +/- 4 hr.

Re: 2016 winter Soltice ride Saturday Dec 17th

OK then Lets call it December 17th at the Route 50 Cracker Barrel just like years past... Show up with a Full Tank of fuel plan on leaving at 11:30Am and if you eating should probably get there by 10:-10.30 am

Few links from past rides ( Last year was a Tribute to Fast Eddie)
