Re: Stolen: 1997 YZ250 2-stroke supermoto

Bill,

Thats sucks so bad. I started to leave my trailer and unload today but even though I was tired I unloaded Sunday when I got to the shop.

At your house is just so unsettling. Like we were talking I've had about 5 breakins at the office and my enclosed trailer in the past year in Mason. It makes you want to just lay in wait and blow some punks away, and then they put YOU in jail, not fair.

I'm sure you called the cops and such. I imagine the degenerates thought it was a dirt bike, no clue what they have, probably sold it for 100 bucks drug money. Maybe with luck it was just some kids and it will show up in the woods nearby when they got tired of pushing it.

Just wrong. That was an awesome little bike. I thought you were just yanking my chain because I liked it so much.

I feel for you buddy. If you do find them we can put them in my tub grinder and make mulch out of 'em, then sell them back to thier families for $22.99 a yard.

Dave

That really blows Bill. Can't believe it went down right outside your front door. Have any profile shots of the bike? Will print them out for the short list.

That blows. I always back the truck right up to the garage door if I leave my bike in there overnight. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

On a positive note. The Husky is fully insured, my I can park at you house for a few days

Re: Stolen: 1997 YZ250 2-stroke supermoto

I've been out of town for several days and come back to read this. That really sucks, Bill. What were these a-holes thinking? They might just get another a-hole if they're ever found.

They probably don't even know what a two-stroke supermoto is. They just happened to be on your street, saw the bike, and went for it?

I'll keep my eyes peeled in Columbus.

Jeff

We need to get a phone number out on here so if we do see it, we won't have to scurry home and post it on here and then lose the guys who have it. Will keep an eye out for it.

That sucks Bill. Especially since you are the kind of guy that will go out of the way to help somebody. From my experience it will be in some guys barn and they try to sell by the word of mouth. They are getting smart enough not to publicly advertise. Everybody put the word out that you are looking for a small CC race bike at the local bars and see what comes up.

Back in Black

Good News!

Thanks to my sister Bonni and her intrepid co-workers my YZ has been recovered and the thieves are being prosecuted.

I can't give details, but at least I have the bike back... mostly...

After:

BTW if you are on here, and get any ideas I now have a multi layer alarm system that among other things rings a chime in my home and calls my cell phone......

They did / I did.

The wheels (and forks) on the bike belong to the thieves and are not my parts. The wheels and forks were recovered seperately.

Now I just have to scratch up the reward for my sister and her co-workers...

Congrats Bill.

Good to see the good guys win one.

Did you offer to save the taxpayer some dough and handle the sentence yourself?

Good deal Bill. One less thing to lose sleep over.
Looks like they kinda knew what they were doing as far as changing the looks of the bike. Sure I'll get the details later. Assuming it was some locals looking for a farm toy. Figuring professional thieves would have had it sliced and diced within hours.

Great news, Bill!

I suspect they were locals who knew you had bikes. Or, as others have mentioned, it likely would have already been parted out and on its way to Mexico by now.

Regardless, I'm just glad you got it back, and that you found out who did it!
