Hey peoples,
I'm new to the boards here. My name is Tommie, I'm 23, and I'm a bikeaholic. East TN is my home, looks like not too many of you guys are from my neck of the woods, but hey, it's not THAT far away. Anyhow, I'm an Apple Computer tech/network engineer. Plenty of well-paved, low-traffic twisties towards the mountains down this way. I ride the super chicken just about every chance I get. And I don't say "y'all" very often, but if you ask me nicely, I might consider saying it once or twice. I look forward to getting to know y'---- I mean you all. Feel free to holler (sorry, I had to) at me anytime.

Tommie

Talking I guess it's my turn

Hello to all my fellow riders out there...my name's Jim and I'm a 23 year old squid based here in the burbs of Chicago, IL. And yes I said squid...it's ok, I know that for only having been riding for 3 years I shouldn't be riding the way I do but I like to. I origionally logged onto this website looking to see if I could network with a few people in my area but it looks like this is more of an OH club than I had origionally thought. But that's cool...you guys still seem like you know how to rock. My compliments to the web designers...this website has been changing for the better every day since I have logged on and I wish you guys nothing but the best of luck. Stay safe everyone and Vera..."biker chicks" rule!!!

Welcome!

Although the majority of the traffic here is geared towards the Ohio region, it doesn't mean that the website can't handle traffic from other regions.

A couple of years ago, LocalRiders.com consisted of a handful of members saying "what if?".

We told 2 friends and they told 2 friends and all of our friends have pitched in and helped where they could and so on. We've relied solely on word of mouth for the recruitment of new members and have just surpassed the 1,000 member mark today.

Please help us spread the word and hopefully soon we'll see some more traffic from your region as well.

Crap. If you keep reminding people about this and calling their attention to it, I'm actually gonna hafta compete against a few others! Oh well, I'd rather have the Joe Rocket jacket anyway. Unfortunately I think my chances of snagging that one are fairly slim. Hehe... At least I'm pretty sure I got the right answer on that one.

another newbie

Hello, I just joined the board. My name's Randy, I'm 32 and from Troy, OH (just north of the Dayton area)

I've been riding for about a year and I have a 1971 Honda CB750 that's in decent shape for being 32 years old. Last summer I took the MC Safety Course and got my full license.

Hobbies (other than working on and riding the bike) are painting models, making chainmaille, and making homebrew beer and mead. I've got pictures and information about what I've made, plus pictures of my bike at www.misellus.com

I found the group because someone from SOHC group posted a link to your site. I'm hoping to find other people in the area to ride with. I only know 1 person with a bike and he rides way too fast for a beginner like me.

Randy/Misellus

Hello!

My name is Chris, I'm from Columbus Ohio. I'm a Network Administrator and do some web design on the side. The biggest thing I'm into is modding GM 3800 V6 motors. My 98 Grand Prix is my baby and is the main focus of all of my attention. I'm a drag racer, and as you can see by my sig I am currently running high 12 second quarter miles in the car. Not too shabby for a 4 door FWD V6, huh? I'm the VP of our local Grand Prix club as well as the webmaster for one of the prominent 3800 aftermarket vendors. http://www.INTENSE-Racing.com I've also got my truck, the Exploder. My ever faithful daily driver.

One of my biggest dreams is to own a motorcycle. Ever since I rode a moped when I was 15 I have wanted a bike. Now it's time to live the dream. I haven't found one yet and I'm actively looking. I hope to locate something in the next few weeks. Then I guess the car is gonna have to share some of it's attention!

I frequent Norwalk Raceway Park in Norwalk, OH as well as a few other local tracks. So if you see a white 4 door Grand Prix with plates "QUIK4DR" come say hi!

Hey, oldhotrod, you are 63??
I will be 70 on June 02.
Just traded for a Gold Wing (Tom, you devil, you!!)
Those carbs are giving me fits!!
Found a good ride - south out of Otway, Ohio, paved road that peters out to a one lane near Squirreltown.
On the way is an ice cream place in Locust Grove, a Honda shop in Rarden, and you will love Wamley and Squirreltown

Hey, Chris from Columbus, I got one of those 3800's in my Siloulette
(dust buster that is). Fine engine, what with 175,000 on it and no repairs yet and strong.
Got a 3.8 in my Lincoln Continental, too.
BUT, I just got my SHO Ford on the road again after a $500 clutch.
Have you rode in one of those Yamaha critters?
Awesome.
A hot dog chip will let them spin to 9000
Well, back to the Gold Wing.

Jim,

Hell yea. My dad had a 90 SHO for a few years... that motor really screams! With some pretty decent modding they can see 12's.

The 3800 rocks. Mine has 114k and does not burn a drop of oil, has no leaks, and run's 12's. Hard to beat. Just got done installing KONI adjustable struts and Eibach springs this weekend. I felt bad that I've been neglecting it since I got my EX500.
