Well, that sucks ass. I was hoping they'd bring out a redesigned Vision in '18 or '19.

I was hoping that with the sales success of Indian, Polaris would shift the Victory brand focus towards sportbikes. Recent special projects seemed to indicate this was sort of happening. Guess not.

It was the toss of the coin if I went with the VStar 1300 Deluxe or the cross country. I thought the CC was a better bike but the Star was able to be bought with cash. This is a shame. I liked the Victory line way better than the Indian. I know there were a few police departments going to the Victory bikes. They always had a good booth at the speedway in Daytona.

Re: Out with the old, in with the new. Victory motorcycles no more?

I talked with someone that works at a local Victory/Indian/Slingshot dealership a couple of days ago, and asked him if he was surprised. He said "not really". Seems that they sold very few Victory bikes all last year, and that Indian was outselling Victory by a 10:1 ratio.

He observed that Victory was never able to develop any brand loyalty or passion, and that is what drives sales for HD and most consumer products that are successful. But they will continue to support Victory buyers and that Polaris has promised them a 10 year supply of parts.

He also commented that from a dealership point of view, the reduction in Victory stock will give them more room to display and market used bikes, which have a much higher profit margin overall. So they see it as a potentially good thing for the dealership.

Re: Out with the old, in with the new. Victory motorcycles no more?

The thought occurred to me this morning, when I saw the news that Guy Martin would be racing along side McGuinness this year on the dominant Mugen....

If you may recall, Guy Martin stepped in and rode one of the Victory Racing electric bikes in 2015 when William Dunlop got hurt.

What happens to the Victory Racing electric bikes?

Do they peal the stickers off, and become Brammo again? ...or does Brammo die with Victory? ...or do they apply Polaris or Indian stickers over top of the Victory stickers? How does that work?

Victory still shows the 2016 Empulse TT on their website (at a MSRP starting at $20k):

...and just like that, I did some digging and this is the only news I could find (although it kinda sorta looks more like speculation to me):

Is end of Victory Motorcycles the end of Empulse electric bike too?
http://www.greencarreports.com/news/...ctric-bike-too

Guess I'm not the only one wondering.

Interesting. Personally I don't care if they are gas or electric, I was just hoping that Victory would become a viable and affordable American sportbike option.

If you really want an Empulse, you can find them for 10K off sticker: https://www.cycletrader.com/dealers/...E-TT-116722405 and make a trip to Iron Pony for more gear at the same time.
