Re: WTB: a car for a teen

Hmm.. Hard to part with my trusty E36, but.... I may think about it in the spring.. I do, however have a few of other cars for sale: Lotus Turbo Esprit, A PAIR of Ford GT40 clones, one priced at $80K, the other a little cheaper.A real GT40 for around $375K (engine built to your spec) or the bargain of the week- A 1956 Ford Thunderbird, three speed 260ci car. (some assembly required) for $17K.

If you need me to check out an older Bimmer for ya, just give me a ring.. Happy to help out!

I love E30s. Probably not safe enough. An E36 or 46 would be better but $ is always a factor with me.

E36's can be bought pretty cheap, but you gotta watch out for a few things.. Mine's got 230K plus on the clock and just.keeps.truckin.along.... Great cars, JUST DON'T GET AN AUTOMATIC TRANS without checking to see if the radiator, plastic impeller water pump and external trans cooler have been repaired/replaced.

Heeeeyyyy, you don't mind if I come around and drool on your stable of vehicles, do ya? I'll even bring my own micro-fiber polishing cloth to wipe 'em off when I'm done. What's the driveline in the GT clones? And I'll take the real GT40 with a supercharged 5.0L Coyote, please.

Re: WTB: a car for a teen

I just looked at craigslist near me. There are a bunch of 1990's - 2000's BMW's for sale pretty cheap, but HOLY COW the miles -- one has nearly 1/4 million miles on it?

There is an 05 Z4 I'm sure she'd love to have. It's red too...

Jon I would look for something like this.
Good sturdy car.
Lots of windows so people will know what she is doing.
You can follow her every move on a police scanner as they will all be saying look what I just saw.

You may be able to afford the car but can you afford the insurance on it. Be sure to call and check first.
