Tire disposal

I've started installing tires myself on my bikes. Where do folks get rid of their tires (properly)?

Butler County has some tire recycling events that take place annually (one of which coming up soon). I usually save them up and ditch them there. Perhaps your county has similar events.

If the new tires are purchased from Sport Tour, we will dispose of the old ones for you for free.
If they were purchased elsewhere, we charge what Rumpke charges us - $2.00 each

Cool. That's very reasonable either way.

Re: Tire disposal

I use to take the prepaid return envelopes from unsolicited credit card offers and tape them to the tire. I mailed out 5 of them over a 2 year period but the 5th one came back with a cease and desist letter from the postal inspector

Re: Tire disposal

Some townships have junk days too, but sometimes they don't accept tires.
