Very nice!

I like the pipes. Probably a rare part now...

Let us know how it runs. Wheelies in the power band?

Bassani chambers :jamout actually this was a project someone had started a few years back and I believe they were going to cafe it out but the stock parts were so nice we thought it would be cool project to be mostly stock look other than motor built with wossner pistons, ported and modern charging system along with the pipes..All original paint, turn signals, cables not touched at all a real nice example of a 1972 soul less bike they use to be referred too!! It had $1200 in just receipts for the crank, cylinder/head work pistons etc and the entire thing was a basket case. So far its been complete but the rider pegs were cut off to install rear sets and not included but Justin has a welder and not afraid to use it installed the pegs and fitted the bassani pipes which ended up quite a chore ( his garage where the work is being done) The chambers and electronic ignition came from another deal just after this one with a lot of 2 stroke parts!

Big score on this https://hvccycle.net/yamaha-rd-r5-cd...-71-05-799-00/

Trying to get everything figured out with the charging mod right now but its coming along quite nice wheelies and power-bands forever :lol

We do have 2 more

It went around the block on the 3rd heat cycle it’s a light switch when it hits the power band not disappointed at all we we did tune it better so it wasn’t so violent when it hit the pipe and can be rode easy but the trip around the block trying to just throttleup was silly lol

HA HA-- "light switch"
Love it.
Brings back memories of my RD.
DG heads, FPP chambers and pistons with porting the size of a picture window.
Power began at 9000 ( and I do mean "began" it wouldn't pull itself out of a wet paper bag til then) and went out at about 10,500.
I never left the hairpin at Nelsons onto the front straight with the front wheel touching the ground.
looks great Dave!!

Re: Not entirely new just a few new parts

Exhaust leaks fixed all the lights and horn works now.. It could use some tires (dry rot a little) and just get the engine run in all the way! It has 4 heat cycles at this point it start on a kick or 2, just needs some elbow grease to polish the little parts. Still smiling the way the power comes on with this little bike can't wait when we can really ring its neck and do a plug chop on the high end of the rpms to make sure the main jet is big enough and doen't lean out ,but as of right now I think it runs as good as my banshee did!
